Kitchen
The Witch’s Hat Hostel kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking requirements. It has ovens that work, pots with handles and plates and cutlery without hire-charges. You will have a designated food shelf for your bed and an allocated shelf in one of our two fridges. A bonus is the “Backpackers Witch’s Pantry’, a fully stocked shelf containing complimentary tea, coffee, Milo, sugar, rice and flour. The pantry even has herbs and oils to make your cooking experience that little bit easier.

Bathrooms/Showers
The Witch’s Hat provides you with showers that are cleaned daily and have an endless supply of hot water. We even supply laminated song sheets in the female showers! (Whose idea was that anyway?)

TV Lounge
The Witch's Hat Backpackers has a cosy TV Lounge with big screen TV, stereo and DVD for lazy afternoons or when your feet are killing you. We have a vast range of movies to choose from as well as board games to entertain the crew.

Internet Lounge
The Witch's Hat Backpackers maintains four computers for your use - all connected with high-speed broadband as well as facilities for faxing, photocopying, printing and burning CDs. There's even a flash drive reader, so you can easily copy all your travelling photos on to disk. Each PC has iTunes and standard Microsoft software installed. This is the cheapest Internet in town, costing just $5 for 2½ hours.

Chill-out Courtyard
Our backpackers courtyard offers a wonderful chill-out area, surrounded with landscaped gardens, a water feature and garden lights to enhance that relaxed feel. You have free use of the barbecue and a vending machine to help you fight off late night attacks of the munchies. And, of course, there's that all-important Beer Fridge to keep the holiday drinks cool.

Laundry
The laundry has coin-operated washers and dryers as well as a fold-down ironing table and iron for those special nights out when a creased shirt will just not make the grade. You can buy washing powder at the front office.

Phone Calls
The Big Red Phone Box located near our courtyard lets you to keep in touch with friends and family far, far away. You can purchase international discount phone cards from the office.

Tour Desk
Our hostel manager Hopper is a former tour guide who has a vast knowledge of all the West Coast has to offer. We can assist you to arrange your local travel requirements, from booking tours to hire cars. We can even help you plan an itinerary if you have your own vehicle and just want to explore our wonderful State. MORE>>

Job/Notice Board
The hallway notice board is regularly updated with details of most Perth-based backpacker employment agencies. These companies will assist you to find work in all areas: nursing, office work, farm stay or maybe even mining. Our board has a regular stream of 'Cars for Sale' notices as well as 'General Stuff' that will make your stay in Perth all the more enjoyable.

Security
Security is a vital point when selecting a hostel or backpackers. The Hat offers secure remote gates for the front of the building, key code front door lock and key locks for entry to each room. Once in your room, you have your own secured locker for added peace of mind. Our premises are managed daily by Hopper and night supervisors throughout our after-hours periods.

Cleaner
We are very aware of the importance of cleanliness to your enjoyable stay, so our dedicated cleaner comes in six days a week to keep a high standard of cleanliness throughout the building, kitchen, toilet and shower facilities.

Car Parking
At the front of the building, we have parking for four vehicles. There's also on-street parking after 5.30pm, which, of course, is free of charge to our guests.

Movie Nights and Day Activities
To enhance the family feel of our hostel, we organise movie nights in Perth, nightclub and bar discounts as well as day trips to areas in and around Perth. You may even catch Hopper cooking up a meal for the crew some time during the week.

24-Hour Check-in
The Hat's Manager Backpackers Hopper is on site most of the day while Night Supervisors can check you in at any hour of the evening. If you have an early morning arrival, just ring the doorbell and we'll show you to your bed.
